the playground test
David came to us stuck in a place a lot of people eventually find themselves.
He had already been trying to lose weight on his own.
But it was the same cycle most people experience.
A little progress.
Then a setback.
Then starting over again.
Sound familiar?
He would tighten things up for a while.
Eat better.
Move more.
Try to stay consistent.
And for a little bit, things would move in the right direction.
Then life would get busy.
Work would ramp up.
Schedules would change.
Structure would fall apart.
And slowly, he’d find himself right back where he started.
Not because he didn’t care.
Not because he wasn’t trying.
But because he didn’t have a system that actually worked with real life.
Over time he had become more sedentary.
Energy dropped.
Movement slowed down.
And things just didn’t feel as steady as they used to.
But during our conversations, one thing kept coming up again and again.
His grandkids.
He told us he wanted to be able to run around with them.
Climb at the playground.
Play tag.
Be present with them the way they deserved.
Not sitting on the sidelines watching.
And that’s the moment when things usually click for people.
Because most people don’t wake up one day thinking:
“I want abs.”
They wake up realizing something deeper.
Their body isn’t keeping up with the life they want to live.
They get winded doing things that used to be easy.
They feel stiff, tired, or uncomfortable in their own body.
And the moments that should feel joyful start coming with a quiet frustration:
“I shouldn’t feel like this.”
That’s where David was.
So instead of chasing extreme diets or short-term fixes, we followed the same three-phase process we use with every client inside Unbreakable.
Because the order matters.
First we focused on the Ground Breaker phase.
This is where we rebuild the foundation.
A lot of people come in with years of inconsistent habits, under-eating, stress, and a body that’s just trying to keep up.
So instead of pushing harder, we focused on stabilizing things first.
Consistent strength training.
Daily movement.
Building a simple nutrition structure.
Getting his body used to moving again.
This phase is about creating stability.
Energy improves.
Strength comes back.
Habits start becoming automatic again.
Once that foundation was strong, we moved into the Unbreakable Results phase.
This is where fat loss becomes much easier.
Because his body was no longer fighting the process.
We implemented a targeted fat-loss strategy while continuing to build strength and maintain his routine.
That’s when the visible changes started showing up.
The weight started dropping.
His waist started shrinking.
His energy kept improving.
And most importantly, it didn’t require extremes.
Then we moved into the Unbreakable Lifestyle phase.
This is the phase most programs skip completely.
Instead of constantly pushing harder, we focused on making the results sustainable.
Learning how to maintain his progress.
Keeping his strength.
Building routines that hold up through normal life.
Travel, busy schedules, family time.
Because the real goal isn’t just losing the weight.
It’s making sure you never have to start over again.
And since starting this process, David has:
• Lost 25+ pounds
• Dropped 6 inches off his waist
• Come off his blood pressure medication
• Become stronger and more active than he has been in years
He genuinely looks like he’s aging in reverse.
His posture is better.
His movement is better.
You can see the confidence in how he carries himself.
But the message he sent me recently says it better than anything I could write.
He told me that when he was younger, he was active with his kids.
Always outside.
Always moving.
But somewhere along the way, chasing work and building a career took over.
Health slipped.
Activity slowed down.
And by the time the grandkids came along, he realized something that hit him hard:
He wasn’t physically ready to show up the way he wanted to.
Now he is.
Now he’s climbing.
Running around.
Playing with them at the playground the way they want them to.
Not watching.
Not sitting.
Participating.
That’s the real win.
Not the weight loss.
Not the measurements.
Just having the energy, mobility, and health to actually live your life.
Much love,
Mackenzie
P.S. If you feel like your body or energy is holding you back from fully showing up in your life right now, it doesn’t have to stay that way. Just reply READY and we can talk about what your next chapter could look like.
