order of operations
Most of the work in fat loss is sequencing.
The right strategy at the wrong time usually doesn’t work.
The exact same strategy at the right time can completely change your results.
I honestly think this is one of the biggest reasons people spend years feeling like nothing works.
Most of the things they’ve tried weren’t necessarily wrong.
They were just applied to a body and a lifestyle that weren’t ready to respond.
A few examples.
If you’re sleeping 5-6 hours a night, stressed out, under-eating during the week, and binging every weekend... trying to cut your calories even lower probably isn’t the answer.
A calorie deficit is a real tool.
The timing is wrong.
If you’ve been sedentary for years, have nagging aches and pains, and your recovery is terrible... jumping into a six-day workout split isn’t the answer.
Strength training is one of the best things you can do.
The sequence is wrong.
If your nutrition completely falls apart every time work gets busy, you travel, or life gets stressful... chasing another meal plan isn’t going to solve the problem.
Having a nutrition plan is important.
The timing is wrong.
First you need a plan that actually fits your life.
Every one of those is a real lever.
Pull it too early...
...and it usually pulls back on you.
That’s why we coach the way we do.
We don’t immediately throw clients into aggressive fat-loss phases.
We start by rebuilding the foundation.
Improving consistency.
Getting protein where it needs to be.
Improving energy.
Building strength.
Creating a plan that works on busy work days, vacations, weekends, and stressful seasons.
Then—and only then—we strategically pursue fat loss.
Because once the foundation is there...
Fat loss gets a whole lot easier.
I think that’s one of the biggest mindset shifts people have inside our program.
They’re always asking,
“What should I do?”
We’re usually asking,
“What should we do first?”
Because you probably already know most of the things you need to do.
The part that’s been missing is knowing when to do them.
Much love,
Mackenzie
P.S. One of the things we say all the time inside coaching is:
“Don’t force results. Build the foundation that creates them.”
Most of the strategies you’ve tried weren’t wrong.
They were applied before your body and your lifestyle were ready to respond.
